    GENERAL INFORMATION

    1. Title: Nikon NSPARC Detector Upgrade for Existing Nikon AXR Confocal Microscope System
    2. Background Information: The NIH, NICHD, Division of Developmental Biology requires the acquisition and installation of a Nikon NSPARC detector upgrade for an existing Nikon AXR confocal microscope system. The Nikon AXR confocal microscope is a critical shared research instrument used to support advanced biological imaging studies. Current research projects require improved imaging sensitivity, enhanced spatial resolution, and the ability to detect low-abundance fluorescent signals while minimizing photobleaching and phototoxicity during live-cell imaging experiments. The NSPARC upgrade will enhance the capabilities of the existing AXR system by providing advanced spatial array detection technology that improves image quality, signal-to-noise ratio, and super-resolution imaging performance. Acquisition of this upgrade will allow researchers to generate higher-quality imaging data while leveraging the Government's existing investment in the Nikon AXR microscope platform.
