AI Summary
The Naval Medical Research Command seeks quotes for a nitrogen and dry-air generator for LC-MS applications. The generator must meet specific performance requirements, including a minimum nitrogen output of 40 L/min and a purity of up to 99.9%. This opportunity is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) and falls under Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
The Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) intends to award a contract resulting from this notice to the responsible offeror. All offers must have a Cage Code and a Unique Entity Identification Number. This is being issued on an unrestricted basis to allow for vendors to provide a quote on Equipment Listed in the attached Solicitation (RFQ). The associated NAICS code is 334516. Offerors must also be registered in Systems for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov per FAR 52.212.1 lack of registration in SAM will qualify contractor as ineligible for award. All responsible sources may submit a quotation in response to this notice which shall be considered. The solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a firm fixed type of contract based on the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable.
a. The Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-Dayton) has a requirement for the procurement of one (1) LNI Swissgas NGA CASTORE XL 40.40 Membrane Nitrogen Generator (Part Number: 6920.70.41) to support analytical testing operations in the laboratory. This equipment provides a continuous, high-purity nitrogen gas stream, which is critical for the operation of laboratory analytical instruments, specifically Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) systems.
b. This generator utilizes specialized membrane technology to separate nitrogen from compressed air. It must deliver a flow rate and purity profile that match the exact requirements of the command's existing mass spectrometers. Deviation from these parameters can cause signal instability, degrade detection limits, void instrument warranties, and lead to costly downtime.
**SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS**
Nitrogen and dry-air generator for LC-MS applications, LNI Swissgas NGA CASTORE XL iQ 40.40 or equal.
Offered system shall be a single, self-contained laboratory gas generator with integrated oil-less compressor and shall not require facility compressed air for normal operation. The system shall provide simultaneous nitrogen and dry-air outputs meeting the following minimum requirements:
1. Nitrogen output: minimum 40 L/min, LCMS-grade nitrogen, purity up to 99.9% or documented equivalent suitable for LC-MS operation.
2. Nitrogen outlet pressure: minimum 8 bar / 116 psi for 220–240 VAC configuration, or minimum 7.5 bar / 108 psi if universal 115–240 VAC configuration is required.
3. Dry-air output: minimum 40 L/min.
4. Dry-air outlet pressure: minimum 8 bar / 116 psi for 220–240 VAC configuration, or minimum 7.5 bar / 108 psi if universal 115–240 VAC configuration is required.
5. Dry-air dew point: ≤ -40°C atmospheric dew point.
6. Operating noise: ≤50 dB(A).
7. Unit footprint: not greater than approximately 59 cm W × 92 cm D × 73 cm H.
8. Controls and monitoring: local touchscreen or equivalent user interface showing system status, pressure/status diagnostics, alarms or pre-alarms; remote start/stop or status monitoring capability via RS485, RS232, digital I/O, Ethernet, or equivalent.
9. Electrical: maximum power draw not to exceed 2.0 kW for 220–240 VAC or 1.7 kW for 115–240 VAC full-range configuration.
10. Integrated or directly compatible UHP nitrogen output capable of at least 200 cc/min at ≥99.9999% nitrogen purity, without reducing the main nitrogen/dry-air outputs below required values.
11. Integrated scroll compressor with variable speed technology to preserve power consumption and reduce wear on the compressor system which extends the maintenance interval on the compressor.
