Illumina is the sole manufacturer and source of the Infinium Methylation Screening Array, a proprietary BeadChip product protected by patents and trade secrets, and the only methylation array compatible with the Illumina iScan System and Infinium Automated Pipetting System with ILASS already installed at the NIA Laboratory of Neurogenetics where the assays will be performed. No other manufacturer produces a functionally equivalent product, and Illumina has certified in writing that it has not authorized any third-party intermediary to provide the Illumina products required for this transaction (Quotation No. 4791799).
