NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) TO SOLE SOURCE AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

Notice of Intent (NOI) to sole source use to provide brand name product requirements of Rockwell Automation Stratix Network Switches as part of the 9-Mile Pump construction contract. The 9-Mile Pump Station project is located in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. 

Description:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District, anticipates publicizing a solicitation for a construction contract for the 9-Mile Pump Station located in St. Clair Shores, MI.  As part of this procurement, USACE Detroit District intends to only specify a portion of the acquisition for the brand-name requirement on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c)(1) for the Stratix Switches from the Manufacturer, Rockwell Automation. 

The Rockwell Automation Stratix Network Switches are integral components of industrial ethernet switches that is part of the existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) System already in place at the 9-mile Pump Station. The Stratix switches would be utilized to connect to both the I/O network and the WAN/SCADA network. Rockwell Automation is the only manufacturer of the Stratix Network Switches parts and can be obtained through Rockwell Automation and distributors. The Stratix Network Switches are to be purchased and installed by the contractor or the subcontractors.

This NOI is being issued to provide notification of the Government’s intent to sole source the brand name portion of the requirement and obtain industry feedback through the RFI process.  This is not a request for a competitive proposal. This is not a solicitation, and the information contained herein is subject to change or be eliminated from the requirement. Only firms capable of providing a compatible equivalent product is requested to respond by email. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
