NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) TO SOLE SOURCE REXA AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

Notice of Intent (NOI) to Sole Source AND Request for Information (RFI)Notice of Intent (NOI) to sole source to REXA, Inc. provide brand name product requirements of REXA X3L Actuator parts as part of the 9-Mile Pump construction contract. The 9-Mile Pump Station project is located in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.  Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District, anticipates publicizing a solicitation for a construction contract for the 9-Mile Pump Station located in St. Clair Shores, MI.  As part of this procurement, USACE Detroit District intends to only specify a portion of the acquisition for the brand-name requirement on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(c)(1) for the REXA Actuator to the manufacturer REXA X3L Actuators which are to be purchased from the Manufacturer, REXA, Inc.  REXA actuators are engineered process control solutions that offer a range of linear, rotary, and damper actuators. They are designed to provide precise positioning, stiff control, and high reliability with minimal maintenance. REXA actuators are configurable to fit a wide variety of control and isolation applications across many different industries, including power, petroleum refining, and mining. REXA, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the X3L Actuators and there are no distributors who can provide the needed requirement. There is not a requirement to have any specialized training for the purchase and installation. The Contractor and or Subcontractors can install this product, but it is it imperative that the manufacture, REXA, will need to be present at start-up to verify the installation is ready for start-up. This NOI is being issued to provide notification of the Government’s intent to sole source the brand name portion of the requirement and obtain industry feedback through the RFI process.  This is not a request for a competitive proposal. This is not a solicitation, and the information contained herein is subject to change or be eliminated from the requirement. Only firms capable of providing a compatible equivalent product is requested to respond by email. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
