NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

PlateBright Preventative Maintenance Support Services

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on behalf of the Office of Engraving. The contract provides preventative maintenance services for the PlateBright Intaglio Plate Cleaning Machine to ensure optimal performance, operational continuity, extend equipment life, and proactively mitigate mechanical failure through early diagnostic at the Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) and Western Currency Facility (WCF). The plates are proprietary and can only be acquired from Koenig & Bauer (K&B) Banknote Solutions.  Therefore, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to K&B in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(b).

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information, or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
