NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE-SOURCE - ABB, INC

NASA/Ames Research Center (ARC) has a requirement for four (4) ABB ACS5000 Converters and two (2) Specialtrasfo Converter Transformers, as well as all documented control devices and equipment.

NASA/ARC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the items from ABB Inc. The rationale supporting this sole source award to ABB Inc. is in accordance with 10 U.S.C 3204(a)(1), as implemented by RFO 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Tina Jenkins, tina.jenkins@nasa.gov not later than 5:00PM EST on April 1, 2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
