NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FOR DCPH-A EQUIPMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR TELEDYNE EQUIPMENT

The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland intends to issue a sole source contract to Teledyne Instruments, Inc., for an Equipment Maintenance Service Agreement under the authority of FAR 13.106-(b)(1)(i). Defense Centers for Public Health – Aberdeen’s (DCPH-A) Teledyne equipment (consisting of Atomx XYZ Multimatrix Purget & Trap Concentrator & Fusion TOC Analyzer) requires preventive maintenance and repair (OEM trained technicians and OEM repair parts), OEM calibration services and OEM software updates.

Teledyne is the sole OEM authorized source for preventive maintenance and repair (OEM trained technicians and OEM repair parts), OEM calibration services and OEM software updates for Teledyne Equipment and they are not available from any other source.

Please note that the Government’s requirement is for a source that can provide an OEM authorized Equipment Maintenance Service Agreement for Teledyne Equipment and for the same source to directly service the equipment by providing the OEM authorized preventive maintenance and repair (by OEM trained technicians and utilizing OEM repair parts), OEM calibration services and OEM software updates within the terms of the Equipment Maintenance Service Agreement.

The Government’s requirement is NOT for a third party to coordinate these services with the sole authorized source (Teledyne), on behalf of the Government. As a result, Teledyne Instruments, Inc., is the sole source for providing the required Equipment Maintenance Service Agreement.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811210 - Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; and the Product and Service Code is J066- Maintenance, Repair and Rebuilding of Equipment- Instruments and Laboratory Equipment.

This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation document will be posted for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall provide a response (consisting of a capability statement sufficient to determine capability in providing the required services). All responses received by closing of this notification of this notice of intent, will be considered by the Government.

Responses that request documentation, request additional information or that solely ask questions will be determined to not be an affirmative response. Responses determined to not be an affirmative response are not valid and no further action will taken with the response.
