    Description

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Non-Expendable Equipment National Program has identified the Holmium (Ho-YAG) Surgical Lasers product line as a candidate for a VA-wide (otherwise referred to as “national”) single Requirements contract award. Holmium (Ho-YAG) Surgical Lasers are solid-state lasers which typically emit wavelengths of 2,100 to 2,140 nm. Lasers ablate tissue with minimal hemostasis, little charring, and a thin zone of necrosis. Common clinical applications for holmium lasers include urology, gynecology, gastroenterology, and general surgery. Laser lithotripsy for breaking up kidney stones is the most common procedure. In laser lithotripsy, the fiber is placed on the stone surface and with each laser pulse, heating occurs causing vaporization of water within and on the surface of the stone. This causes fragmentation to occur in a drilling fashion. The Contractor must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements of solicitation. The objective is to provide Lumenis Pulse™ 120H Holmium Laser System or equal Lasers: Ho-YAG to be used by clinicians throughout the VA medical centers and facilities located in the Continental United States (CONUS) or Outside of the Continental United states (OCONUS). The period of performance is for a base of 12-months with four 12-month option periods. Please see the RFP and attachments for more information.
