PLANNED SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT, PULSED POWER SWITCH ASSEMBLIES

Synopsis/Notice of Intent of Sole Source for Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies

This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the U.S. Army Engineer District Chicago intent to award a Firm-Fixed-Price contract on a noncompetitive basis to Darrah Electric Co Inc (CAGE: 19020) at 5914 Merrill Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44102-5626. This requirement is for the following:

Item # AA-10381-001 - 1.5W, 30kA Pulsed Power Switch Assembly
Item # AA-10372-001 - 125kVA, Fish Barrier Demo Switch
Item # AA-10373-001 - 25kVA, Fish Barrier Demo Switch

Description: The services shall consist of supply Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies designed and built by Astrol Electronics for the Chicago Sanitary & Ship Canal (CSSC) Barrier System.

The proposed vendor has been the only known provider of the aforementioned items for several years, wherein providing the required assemblies. Given that Darrah Electric Company, the sole distributor for Astrol Electronics, has the sole means to acquire the Pulsed Power Switch Assemblies, this acquisition is available from one source, the proposed vendor.

This notice does not constitute a solicitation for offers, proposals, etc. However, interested firms may send a capabilities statement NO LATER THAN 3:30 p.m. (Central Time) on March 15, 2024. Statements should be sent to the attention of Ericka Hillard at ericka.d.hillard@usace.army.mil with copy furnished to Miriaha Sigmon at miriaha.d.sigmon@usace.army.mil. Please ensure that the subject line of your email includes the title/description of this announcement. Award is anticipated on or about March 31, 2024. This announcement is in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1). 

All responding vendors must be registered to the System for Award Management (SAM). Information can be found at https://www.sam.gov. Complete SAM registration means a registered DUNS and CAGE Code numbers.
