AI Summary
The U.S. Army is seeking proposals for a portable oxygen generation system that meets medical-grade standards for use in austere environments. The system must utilize Pressure Swing Adsorption technology, weigh under 350 pounds, and operate on variable voltage. Proposals should aim for FDA approval and a Technology Readiness Level of 7 or higher.
*** AMENDMENT 0001 (July 7, 2026) *** The purpose of this amendment is to update the target starting Technology Readiness Level (TRL) for the prototype solutions. Please see the updated RPP attachment for details. ********************************************* The U.S. Army requires a modernized, portable, self-contained oxygen generation system capable of supporting life-saving medical operations in austere environments at Role of Care 3. This Request for Prototype Proposals (RPP) seeks solutions that demonstrate a self-contained, portable oxygen generation system using Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) or equivalent technology. The prototype must produce medical-grade oxygen meeting United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, operate on single or double-voltage power with automatic voltage detection, and weigh no more than 350 pounds. Please review the attached Request for Prototype Proposals and supporting documents for full requirements and submission instructions. The goal is development of FDA-approved devices that meet or exceed O2 program standards, ideally starting at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7. See Attachments.
