    Note: These responses are hereby incorporated into the RFQ. If necessary, a formal amendment will be issued to reflect any changes to the solicitation terms or requirement.

    Questions and Answers:

    1. Question: What is the application that this engine is in?

    Answer: The engine is installed on the USCG’s 47-ft Motor Lifeboat, a boat designed to operate in surf and heavy-weather conditions.

    2. Question: Is it within a vehicle or an Onan generator?

    Answer: It is in a “vehicle” (i.e., an 47-ft Motor Lifeboat) and not an Onan generator.

    3. Question: Do you have a CUMMINS Part Number?

    Answer: The model number of the Cummins engines on the 47-ft MLBs is Cummins QSC 8.3.

    4. Question: The material List ASTM B209 6061 Aluminum. The material temper is not listed. Can you please advise on the temper required. PER NOTE 3 The Powder coating does not give a finish on the sheen. Glossy,  Matte, Satin?

    Answer: Material temper: T6 and Finish sheen: matte
