    The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) proposes to enter into a contract with Life Technologies Corporation in Grand Island, NY, on a basis of other than full and open competition. This requirement is for authorized approved vendors to perform services for brand name equipment. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals however If interested, the Government shall consider capability statements. Specific items include: o TaqMan probes are specialized, dual-labeled DNA oligonucleotides used in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) to detect and measure specific DNA sequences. They feature a 5 fluorescent reporter dye and a 3 quencher, which suppresses fluorescence until Taq DNA polymerase cleaves the probe during amplification, releasing a measurable signal proportional to the target DNA amount. o FAM, VIC and CY5 are the 5 markers respectably. o QSY, TAM, MGB, And QSY2 are all 3 markers respectably. o The probes can be used to perform Multiplex up to five/six targets o TAM for Multiplex up to 2 targets, Ideal for maintaining consistency in projects using legacy TAMRA probe designs, Available with FAM, VIC, and TET dyes o MGB for multiplexing up to five targets with FAM, VIC, ABY, JUN, and Cyanine 5 (Cy5) o QSY for multiplexing up to four targets with ABY, JUN, FAM, and VIC dyes o QSY2 for 5th and 6th target multiplexing with Cyanine 5 (Cy5) and Cyanine 5.5 (Cy5.5) dyes The NAICS code for this action is 325414.
