    Vehicle Procurement Announcement

    The U.S. Embassy Bern, Switzerland invites qualified local vendors based in Switzerland to submit offers for the supply of a new vehicle to replace the following fleet vehicles:

    • Black BMW XI, 2016 – 60,000 km
    • Grey VW T5 Caravelle, 2011 – 54,000 km

    Vendors are requested to include in their proposals a trade-in value for the vehicles being replaced, which will be considered in the overall offer evaluation.

    Vehicle Requirements

    The Embassy is seeking a modern, versatile vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, a hybrid (petrol/electric) powertrain, and all-wheel drive (AWD). The vehicle must be suitable for both passenger transport and cargo needs.

    It should provide seating for at least seven passengers with a configurable layout, and a minimum cargo capacity of 1,800 liters with the rear seats folded or removed. A fuel efficiency of at least 30 mpg equivalent (WLTP) is required. The vehicle must come with a minimum warranty of three years or 60,000 kilometers.

    Safety is of paramount importance. The vehicle must be equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, as well as front and rear parking sensors. A rear-view camera or 360° surround view system is mandatory. Compliance with Euro 6 emissions standards or higher is required.

    Inside, the vehicle should offer a high level of comfort, including three-zone automatic climate control, modular/removable seating, an integrated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and premium upholstery (fabric or leatherette).

    Exterior requirements include dual power sliding side doors, minimum 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and roof rails to allow for additional cargo options.

    Submission Requirements

    Interested vendors must provide the following:

    1. Technical specifications of the proposed vehicle(s) demonstrating compliance with all requirements.
    2. Warranty documentation and details of after-sales service options in Switzerland.
    3. Delivery timeline and vehicle availability.
    4. Pricing in Swiss Francs (CHF), exclusive taxes, duties, registration, and delivery costs and trade-in value consideration.
    5. Confirmation that vehicles from outside Switzerland meet Swiss Certificate of Conformity requirements, are registerable in Switzerland, and are resellable in Switzerland.

    Eligibility

    This procurement is open to local vendors in Switzerland as well as vendors offering vehicles from outside Switzerland, provided that all vehicles comply with Swiss registration and resale requirements.
