This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Research Analysis Division/Office of Technology Development (OTD), District Currency Facility (DCF) is a component of the Department of the Treasury and has a requirement for a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Microscope to collect microscopic images and localized FTIR spectra. This device is critical and essential to BEPs mission. The Contractor shall provide BEP DCF with equipment, installation, and training that meets or exceeds the technical requirements stated in this Statement of Work (SOW). Any reference to brand names or trademarks in this document does not indicate endorsement by the BEP or by the US Government. The FTIR microscope shall meet all current U.S. commercial codes and industrial standards for manufacturing high quality analytical equipment to be utilized within a laboratory environment.
