BACKGROUND: The 19F5 Recruit Firefighting Trainer (FFT) in Great Lakes, IL has been in-service for over 30 years. The Navy training requirements have evolved and a new facility with both FFT and Damage Control Wet Trainer (DCWT) training capabilities is needed to meet the student throughput demand. The Damage Control Wet Trainer (DCWT) is utilized to train and evaluate damage control team performance in the identification, reporting, and repair of flooding casualties resulting from piping ruptures and ship collisions.
