DESCRIPTION
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to establish a Qualified Vendors List (QVL) for Cab Glass repair and/or replacement for Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in various locations throughout the United States.
The purpose of this pre-solicitation is to solicit statements of interest and capabilities from contractors having experience in this type of work.
In order to assist with aquisition strategy development and to gain a better understanding of the commerical marketplace, the FAA requests the following information for interested vedors:

SUMMARY OF WORK
A. Project Location: The projects are located at FAA Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in three different regions, Eastern, Central, and Western.
B. Project Scope: This project requires the repair and/or removal and replacement of insulated glass units located in the cab of the Air Traffic Control Tower.
C. Work must include all labor, materials and equipment to complete the following:
D. The typical types of glazing installed in FAA ATCT facilities usually consist of one of the following types of annealed glass, but is not limited to:
E. The FAA also has a limited number of facilities that require the following application:
F. Provide a warranty in accordance with specification 08 88 58.
G. Clean new IGU in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
H. Clean project site and restore to original condition.
CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS
A. The Project Manager must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the glass industry and with coordinating subcontractors and suppliers on complex projects.
B. The Project Superintendent must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the glass industry and with coordinating subcontractors and suppliers on complex projects and in overseeing and implementing safety programs and protocols. The Project Superintendent must have completed the 30-hour OSHA General Industry Safety Class. Proof of current qualifications must be provided.
C. Crane operators must meet the requirements in USACE EM 385-1-1, Section 16 and Appendix G. In addition, for mobile cranes with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) rated capacitates of 50,000 pounds or greater, crane operators must be designated as qualified by a source that qualifies crane operators (i.e., union, a government agency, or and organization that tests and qualifies crane operators). Proof of current qualifications must be provided.
