    USPS Compact Building Manufacturer Request for Information (RFI) Release Date: May 19, 2025 Response Date: June 13, 2025 This information has been prepared by United States Postal Service (USPS) Facilities National Programs Category Management Team (CMT). This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Postal Service will act in this matter. Requirement The USPS is seeking qualified manufacturers for prefabricated, compact buildings for deployment within the contiguous United States. These units serve as small postal facilities on either a temporary, emergency, long term, or permanent basis. USPS requires a manufacturer that can produce quality structures in a factory setting and transport the units to a specified location. At this time USPS is not providing any specific design requirements, however basic unit requirements are outlined herein for informational use in order to prepare a capabilities statement response. Basic design and manufacturing requirements for compact buildings include an HVAC system, satellite dish capability, handicap accessibility, plumbing system including toilets and hand washing stations, electrical power capability, exterior signage, LED lighting, casework and cabinetry, and postal equipment including rotary cabinets and parcel lockers. Design of the structure must meet all applicable building codes and USPS design requirements. Compact building suppliers are typically excluded from preparing sites and setting units upon delivery; however, they are responsible for the design of the connection to the foundation along with providing necessary fasteners, material straps, etc. for connection by USPS site contractor. Response Notes This RFI is NOT a Request for Proposal, nor is it an Invitation for Bid. This RFI is being used to promote competition and to obtain information for market research and planning purposes ONLY. Suppliers who respond to this RFI and are deemed minimally qualified by review of their capabilities and alignment with the requirement information provided herein will be invited to participate in a subsequent RFP event. Responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Postal Service to form a binding agreement. This RFI is subject to review or cancellation at any time and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Postal Service to enter into an agreement. The Postal Service will not pay for the information submitted in response to this request. No solicitation exists at this time however USPS does intend on hosting an event in the near future and RFI respondents will be invited to participate. Response Instructions All responses must be received by 4:00pm Eastern time on June 13, 2025.
