The City of Bend requests proposals for engineering services to complete the design and implementation of improvements associated with the River Well #1 Renewal Project.River Well #1 is one of the City of Bend’s longest operating and highest producing groundwater sources, constructed in 1972 and centrally located near the Deschutes River. The well provides critical system resiliency during peak summer demand and surface water outages. Recent investigations identified significant structural, geotechnical, and well integrity concerns, including approximately 3.5 inches of differential settlement, cracking of the existing wellhouse foundation, highly compressible subsurface soils, and multiple casing leaks between approximately 357 and 480 feet below ground surface.The anticipated budget for this scope of work is approximately $525,000.
