    It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe uniform rental services being requested by the County.

    The County intends to award a three (3) year contract (with the option to renew for two [2] years) to the Bidder selected as the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder whose response meets the County’s requirements.

    These specifications, terms, and conditions are to procure the most environmentally preferable products with equivalent or higher performance and at an equal or lower cost than traditional products.  Specific requirements from the County’s Sustainability Program related to this RFQ are included in the appropriate sections.

    Background

    Alameda County is located in the San Francisco Bay Area and is comprised of a population of 1.62 million, with 9,900 employees working for 21 different agencies. The County requires Uniform and Rental Services to be utilized by the following Alameda County departments:

     

    1. General Services Agency - Building Maintenance Department (GSA - BMD – For Building Maintenance and Janitorial);

    2. General Services Agency - Logistics (GSA- Logistics – For Parking, Messenger, Motor Vehicle, Property & Salvage);

    3. Environmental Health Department – Household Hazardous Waste Division (HHW); and

    4. Public Works Agency (PWA).

    Contractor will provide consistent, high-quality uniform rental and textile services that ensure County employees receive properly fitted, clean, compliant garments on schedule, with timely service response, accurate tracking, and reliable support across all departments and locations.
