AI Summary
The University of Kansas issued an RFI for Cloud High Performance Computing services, extending the closing date and providing Q&A clarifications. The opportunity seeks information on cloud HPC solutions with preferences for 24/7 support, LDAP/AD integration, and redundant connectivity.
Greetings! This Addendum 1 has been created to extend the closing date by one week and to reply to several questions submitted via the system. Answers to a few questions are still outstanding, as they were submitted in the last few days. I will post those answers as soon as possible. Please start your review of the Cloud High Performance Computing by first reading the RFI Snapshot located in the Attachments tab. The RFI Snapshot provides high level details about our evaluation including the product/service category, RFI timeline, and evaluation criteria. Next, you should read the RFI Scope of Work and the RFI Instructions, which are also located in the Attachments section. After you review those materials, prepare your submission by working through each tab from left-to-right here in Euna Procurement, powered by Ion Wave. Most responses to this RFI will be addressed in the Attributes tab. However, key milestones can be found in the Activities tab and any requested documentation should be uploaded in the Response Attachments tab. Please Note: All required (i.e. red-starred) fields must be completed to successfully submit a bid. Questions about the commodity, requirements, or the evaluation process itself should be directed to the assigned Procurement Officer identified in the Bid Contact Info area in this tab. However, should you run into any technical (system) challenges or have problems registering as a supplier in ION WAVE during normal business hours, you can contact Rob Kottenbrock at rob.kottenbrock@ku.edu. After hours, you can contact ION WAVE at 844-226-3862 Listen to the prompts to connect with your Ion Wave team - Option 1, then 2, or support.ionwave@eunasolutions.com with your technical questions. Please note: Neither Rob, nor ION WAVE can address questions about the commodity, requirements, or process. Thank you for your interest in participating in this evaluation and good luck! #rockchalkjayhawk #goku --- Q&A --- Q1: Is KU open to a vendor walkthrough of the premises during the RFI process? A1: No, not during the RFI process. Submitted: 1/20/2026 10:29:04 AM (CT) Q2: Does KU require 24/7 support or are business-hours SLAs acceptable? A2: 24×7 support is preferred for critical infrastructure, though business-hours SLAs may be acceptable for non-critical components. Vendors should explain the cost structure differences. Submitted: 1/20/2026 10:26:24 AM (CT) Q3: Should solutions support all compliance frameworks or only workload-specific ones? A3: Compliance should be workload-specific, rather than universally applied, provided appropriate isolation and controls are available. Submitted: 1/20/2026 10:26:05 AM (CT) Q4: Does KU require integration with existing LDAP/AD for UID/GID mapping? A4: Yes. Integration with existing LDAP/AD for UID/GID mapping is strongly preferred. Submitted: 1/20/2026 10:25:45 AM (CT) Q5: Should vendors propose redundant private connectivity? A5: Redundant private connectivity is preferred for resilience but not strictly required. Vendors should describe options and cost implications. Submitted: 1/20/2026 10:25:17 AM (CT)
