    Description

    The Consultant shall provide professional engineering, planning, environmental, public outreach, and grant support services necessary to evaluate railroad crossing safety improvements at four (4) at-grade railroad crossings within the AlamedaCorridor-East (ACE) Phase III Project.The Project includes alternatives analysis, conceptual engineering, environmental documentation, stakeholder coordination, conceptual cost estimating, benefit-cost analysis, and preparation of grant-ready technical documentation necessary to advance one (1) preferred crossing improvement alternative toward future implementation.The Consultant shall perform all services in accordance with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) Program requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines.Conceptual engineering developed under this Contract may advance the preferred alternative to approximately thirty-five percent (35%) design solely to support alternatives analysis, environmental review, utility coordination, right-of-way assessment, conceptual cost estimating, and future funding applications. Such work shall not constitute final design or final Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E).
