Q (Current Awning Installed): Can you please provide the awning company that installed the previous awning and date of install? Awning compliance with FL Building Code Wind Load Requirements may be subject to existing frame.
A: The company that installed the awning over 15 years ago is no longer in business.
Q (Material): Is the canvas to be vinyl?
A: Yes, the canvas is to be vinyl
Q (Bonding - Bid & P&P): Will this small job require 1) Bid Bond 2) P & P bond 3) or is there a floor contract value before a bond is needed?
A: If the job is under $200,000, then no bond is needed
Q (Frames on side of building): Have the frames been inspected by an engineer to determine structural integrity in product and attachment? If a frame is bad and needs attention - discovery at construction - how will you handle the extended engineering, product, and labor costs?
A: When you submit your costs for the framing, include a cost if more work needs to be done (part of the lump sum for that line item), and then if you do not use it all for the job, then you just bill less than what you put for that line item.
