Bridge Inspection Services 2026 and 2027, Section 26-00711-00-BI

The City of Urbana is seeking assistance with bridge inspection and bridge program management services for the City's bridge and structure inventory, including 12 bridges subject to the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and 17 structures not subject to the NBIS, for inspections due in calendar years 2026 and 2027. The bridge inspections and bridge program management services shall be according to NBIS and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requirements. Inspections for bridges subject to NBIS require utilization of the IDOT Bridge Inspection System (BIS). The City's bridge and structure inventory are summarized by the following documents, which are included in the Attachments:

1. Bridge Inspection Inventory Spreadsheet.
   1. Inspections due in 2026:
      1. 24 routine
      2. 3 element level
   2. Inspections due in 2027:
      1. 1 routine
      2. 9 channel cross sections
   3. All bridges and structures are owned and maintained by the City of Urbana, except for the following:
      1. 010-0110, owned and maintained by Norfolk Southern Railway
      2. 010-5900, owned and maintained by Urbana Park District
      3. 010-6111, ownership undetermined
      4. 010-6119, ownership undetermined
2. Bridge Inspection Maps from Urbana GIS.
   1. All 29 bridges and structures in Urbana's bridge and structure inventory.
3. Bridge Inspection Maps from IDOT BIS.
   1. The 12 NBIS bridges, plus one non-NBIS structure (010-6107).
