    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Modesto, County of Stanislaus, State of California, will receive electronic sealed Bids for the following work: Bystrum Area - Phase 1 Strengthen & Replace Water Mains.

     

    The City Clerk of the City of Modesto, California, will accept all required bid forms electronically through the OpenGov Procurement portal prior to Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and before 11:00 am, in accordance with the Contract Documents for the Bystrum Area - Phase 1 Strengthen & Replace Water Mains.  The bid security, if being sent by mail, shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope and filled with the City Clerk, Tenth Street Place,1010 Tenth Street, Suite 6600, Modesto, California 95354, (Mailing Address: P.O. Box 642,Modesto, CA 95353) prior to the Tuesday, September 1, 2026 and before 11:00 am with the outside of the bid envelope indicating:

      Each bid shall be made out on the Bid Form available through the OpenGov Procurement portal and shall be accompanied by a bid security for not less than 10 percent of the amount of the bid, made payable to the order of the City Clerk, City of Modesto, California. Each bid shall also be accompanied by an executed Local Hire Certification and Skilled and Trained Workforce Certification in accordance with Articles 7 and 8 of Chapter 3 of the Modesto Municipal Code.

      The above-mentioned bid security shall be given as a guaranty that the Bidder will enter into the contract if awarded to them and will be declared forfeited if the successful Bidder refuses to enter into said contract after being notified to do so by the City of Modesto.

      The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in a bid.

      No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof.

      This project will replace approximately 9,720 LF of aging, existing water mains in the Bystrum neighborhood, located in Stanislaus County along the border of north Ceres and south Modesto. The project limits include Herndon Avenue to the east, Woodworth Avenue to north, Richland Avenue to the east, and Nadine Avenue to the south. The existing water mains in this area are old, undersized steel mains prone to leaks and low pressures.  This project will install new water mains, valves, fire hydrants, and other appurtenances to current City Standards to aid in system reliability, flows and pressures.

Make checks payable to the City of Modesto, Attn: 4th Floor, Bid Requests, P.O. Box 642, Modesto, California 95353. The entire deposit of $40.00 is refundable if plans and specifications are returned in good condition within 15 calendar days after Council action.  For shipping requests, a Federal Express or UPS account must be provided, or other arrangements may be requested.  Shipping costs are non-refundable
