The sections are described as Egret Court; Red Wing Court; Meadowlark Lane; Red Wing Ct (East); and Egret Ct (East). The project will consist of construction of the City’s standard 10ft alley section. The successful bidder will begin construction within 10 calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Substantial completion of the work will be achieved within 120 calendar days of the date indicated on the Notice to Proceed and final completion will be achieved within 15 calendar days after substantial completion. Each bid submitted shall be accompanied by a cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the maximum amount bid, payable without recourse to the City of Rowlett, or a Bid Bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the successful Contractor will execute a Construction Agreement with the City, including all required bonds and other documents. The successful Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of 115% of the contract amount, and a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount, as well as evidence of all required insurance coverage within ten (10) calendar days of notice of award. The successful Contractor shall also furnish a Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount covering defects of material and workmanship for two calendar years following the City’s approval and acceptance of the construction. An approved surety company, licensed in the State of Texas, shall issue all bonds in accordance with Texas law.
