NYSED seeks vendor information to modernize its Child Nutrition Management System with a secure, scalable, cloud-ready solution. This RFI gathers market and vendor insights to inform future procurement.
For complete information, please see the attached RFI document or posting to the NYSED Funding Opportunities webpage. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking information from vendors regarding the modernization of its Child Nutrition Management System (CNMS). Through this Request for Information (RFI), NYSED seeks to better understand the current technology market, vendor landscape, and available solutions for replacing its legacy Oracle-based system with a modern, configurable, secure, scalable, and cloud-ready solution that supports the administration of federal and state child nutrition programs. Vendors should submit responses addressing the questions contained in Attachment 1 – Vendor Questionnaire, describing the capabilities of their proposed solution. Responses must be submitted electronically via the online form identified in the RFI by August 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Vendor inquiries must also be submitted via the online form by July 28, 2026. Other key dates are provided in the RFI. The RFI process provides NYSED with the opportunity to better understand available technologies, implementation approaches, and vendor capabilities that may inform a future competitive procurement. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP), Invitation for Bids (IFB), or offer of contract. Information obtained through this RFI may be used to develop the requirements for a future procurement. Participation is voluntary, and NYSED will not reimburse vendors for any costs incurred in preparing or submitting responses. Vendors are advised to clearly identify any proprietary or confidential information contained in their submissions.
SLED stands for State, Local, and Education. These are solicitations issued by state governments, counties, cities, school districts, utilities, and higher education institutions — as opposed to federal agencies.
