    Description

    1. In general, this work consists of:
      1. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control plan, trench safety, and storm water pollution prevention plan best practices, including inlet protection barriers.
      2. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of surface water and ground water control including depressurization and dewatering of water bearing soil layers.
      3. Installation of 12-inch AWWA C-900 water line by trenchless construction, for all depths, including restrained joints, bends, and fittings. Disinfection and hydrostatic testing shall be completed by the contractor.
      4. Installation of minimum 20-inch steel casing, by trenchless construction, including fittings. Contractor shall make sure proposed water line with restrained joints and spacers has the needed clearance for installation inside the proposed steel casing. 
      5. Installation and connection of new irrigation service lead, to match existing service lead diameter, from new water line to existing irrigation water meters using tapping saddle with stainless steel band or sleeve including Ford corporation valves and ball valve curb stops or approved equal. No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to ensure that all meters are reconnected to the new water line.
      6. Connection of the new water lines to the existing water system by wet connections.
      7. Abandonment of existing water lines, all sizes, all depths, including cutting, draining, and plugging the existing water line shown in the plans.
      8. Power poles near or in areas of conflict shall be braced as directed by Engineer and Private Utility Company.
      9. Site restoration of disturbed areas including removing and replacing concrete sidewalks and ramps to ADA standards, damaged turf, plants, shrubs, fences, and trees.
