The Project includes, without limitation, the demolition of the entirety of the former Pay N Play Racquetball Building at 1629 Marine Avenue, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, at Marine Avenue Park. The work includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, surveying and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to complete the Project to the City’s sole satisfaction, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. The work elements include, but are not limited to, fencing of the site to establish a public safe work zone area for the duration of the Project; protection of existing improvements including, but not limited to, trees, light poles and adjacent sports courts; clearing and grubbing; storm water pollution prevention plan; disconnection and capping of utilities; removal of the existing racquetball building including foundations and walkways; grading the site to drain; import of Class A top soil; modification/extension of the existing irrigation system; and installation of turf sod in the area disturbed by the work. This Work performance is to be in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to perform and materials to be furnished are approximations only and is the basis for the comparison of BIDS. Actual quantities of Work to perform may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer.

Time for completion of the Work is 100 total Working Days, not including the plant establishment period from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed to fulfill preconstruction requirements including all survey, tests/reports, permits, submittals, order materials, and complete construction in every detail. Primary working hours shall be within the timeframe of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, except when City Hall is closed.

Bids will be received prior to 10:00 am Monday, June 29, 2026, and will be opened online at that time.
