    Description

    The City of Houston seeks qualified consulting Respondents to provide Professional Engineering Services for the East Water Purification Plant Enhancement Project 2. The selected engineering firm will serve as the Engineer of Record and will be responsible for the design of new facilities to support a 360 million gallons per day (MGD) expansion to the EWPP. These facilities will consist of new solids handling facilities including thickeners, equalization basins, a centrifuge dewatering facility; large diameter raw water and finished water lines including tunneled pipelines; electrical supply and distribution facilities, a new operations and maintenance facility, high service pump station upgrades and/or expansion; ground storage tanks; and associated facilities. The City intends to enter into one or more contracts with a qualified firm(s) to perform the required engineering services under this solicitation. A separate but companion project, Project 1, will involve new primary treatment facilities including pretreatment facilities, ozone facilities, filters, transfer pumping, and chemical feed system. Project 1 will be designed and constructed separately and is not included in this solicitation.
