    Description

    The Village of Lindenhurst is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide professional engineering, design, public engagement, and construction oversight services for the development and construction of a Village Greenway along Heling Boulevard and through the western commuter parking lot in the Village of Lindenhurst. This project is funded through the New York State NY Forward Program, and all work shall comply with applicable NY Forward requirements, New York State laws and regulations, and any other federal, state, and local requirements associated with the funding source. The selected consultant will be responsible for the planning, design, and construction administration of the project from concept through completion. Services shall include, but are not limited to: Preparation of conceptual and final engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents for the proposed Greenway. Coordination with the Village, regulatory agencies, utilities, and other stakeholders as necessary to advance the project. Public engagement services, including planning, facilitating, and presenting at public meetings and stakeholder meetings, preparing presentation materials, responding to public comments, and incorporating community feedback into the project design, as appropriate. Assistance with the bidding and procurement process, including responding to contractor questions, evaluating bids, and providing recommendations for contract award. Construction administration and engineering/construction oversight services, including construction observation and inspection; monitoring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents; reviewing schedules and progress; maintaining project documentation; reviewing payment applications; assisting with change orders and requests for information (RFIs); coordinating with the Village, contractor, and funding agencies; and overseeing project closeout. Proposers must demonstrate experience providing engineering, design, and construction administration services for municipal transportation, pedestrian, streetscape, greenway, trail, or similar public infrastructure projects. Preference may be given to firms with experience delivering projects funded through New York State programs, including NY Forward, Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), NYSDOT, or other state-funded capital improvement programs. Firms shall employ appropriately licensed professional staff and demonstrate the technical expertise, staffing capacity, and public engagement experience necessary to successfully complete the project. The Village will consider proposals submitted by a single firm, a joint venture, or a team utilizing qualified subcontractors. The prime consultant shall remain fully responsible for the coordination, management, and performance of all subcontractors and team members. Additional information regarding the project scope, schedule, and procurement requirements will be included in the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Village of Lindenhurst reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to award a contract in the best interest of the Village.
