    Background

FUSD is seeking vendors to provide Expanded Learning Programs for District students during before, and/or after school, summer sessions, and intersessions. The program must integrate with the regular school day and other expanded learning opportunities while providing a safe physical and emotional environment, opportunities for relationship building and promotion of active student engagement.

Additionally, the District may provide ELO-P to additional grade spans for secondary pupils. “Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. Expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year.

Proposals for Expanded Learning Programs in the categories below will be highly considered.

    • Academic Support: Subject areas are math, reading, and writing
    • Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Assemblies and presentations for student engagement and self-efficacy
    • Sports: Team sports with inter-school tournaments
    • Camps: Day camps and overnight camps

Respondents are encouraged to view and to become familiar with the ELO-P funding requirements. https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/ex/elopinfo.asp

The contract resulting from this bid will have a duration of one (1) year from the Board of Education approval but may be extended for two (2) additional successive one-year extensions, at the sole discretion of the District, not to exceed any accumulative total of three (3) years. Pricing shall be held firm for the duration of the contract.
