    Description

    The Town of Fairmont has received a Community Development Block Grant – Infrastructure (CDBG-I) award in the amount of $3,000,000.00 by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for the Brown Street Pump Station Rehabilitation project which includes the rehabilitation of the existing Brown Street pump station and the repair / replacement of the associated mechanical bar screen. Specifically, the project will include rehabilitation of the existing concrete structures and piping used in the pump station, replacement of the existing pumps, existing pump controls and electrical controls, and replacement of the existing telemetry with new SCADA equipment. The existing, failed bar screen will be replaced with a new unit within the existing concrete structure. All components All work for the project will be completed on the Brown Street Pump Station site located at 101 Brown Street, Fairmont, NC. Contingent upon this award, the Fairmont Board of Commissioners is soliciting requests for qualifications for professional engineering services to assist the Town in both a) developing a final engineering report, and b) subsequent engineering design and bid package services and construction inspection services, of this project in compliance with all applicable federal requirements and regulations under the CDBG program. Payment terms will be negotiated with the selected firm. The fee for professional engineering services will be paid with CDBG funds.
