The Electric Department is initiating a project to update and standardize its Geographic Information System (GIS) by migrating from Esri’s 10.8.1 platform and a legacy geometric network model to Esri’s Utility Network model on version 11.1. This transition reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a resilient, scalable, and future-ready GIS infrastructure aligned with industry best practices. As part of the migration to the Utility Network, this project will also be upgrading Schneider Electric’s ArcFM solution to a version supporting Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1. The Electric Department uses ArcFM to support designing, editing, and managing workflows.
