    Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home WSHP Replacement – DOM dining room Location: Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home 7054 Veterans Pkwy Pell City, AL, US 35125 Site Visit: Friday, February 6th 10:00am Contact: Hillary Hardwick 205-338-6487 Project Description Provide labor and materials to remove the existing Trane WSHP 6‑4 water-source heat pump and replace it with a Daikin WSCH036 water-source heat pump. Work shall include installation, connection, and startup of the new unit and installation of a new thermostat and thermostat cabling to the space being controlled. All work is to be performed during normal working hours. Scope of Service 2.1 Demolition and Removal De-energize and disconnect the existing Trane WSHP 6‑4 unit. Disconnect high voltage wires from the unit. Disconnect low voltage BAS com cable from the unit. Recover refrigerant in accordance with EPA regulations. Valve off and drain water loop at the WSHP. Disconnect water hoses from unit. Disconnect duct work from WSHP. Gain access to unit though ceiling, area to be roped off by customer. Remove and dispose of the existing WSHP unit from the site. 2.2 Equipment Furnishing Furnish one (1) Daikin WSCH036 water-source heat pump. Equipment will be installed per Daikin Applied manufacturer’s installation instructions. 2.3 Mechanical Installation Set and secure the Daikin WSCH036 in the existing location using duct lift. Connect unit to existing duct work supply and return. unit to existing water loop piping within close proximity of the unit, including: Supply and return piping connections isolation valves (if present and serviceable) unit to existing condensate drain piping. 2.4 Electrical Installation Connect the WSHP to the existing electrical power source serving the previous unit. 2.5 Thermostat Installation Furnish and install a new thermostat compatible with the Daikin WSCH036. Install new thermostat cable from the WSHP unit to the thermostat location. Mount thermostat within the space being controlled at an owner-approved location. 2.6 Startup and Checkout Start up the Daikin WSCH036 unit. Verify proper operation in heating and cooling modes. Confirm thermostat functionality and basic temperature control. 3. Exclusions Engineering or design services Load calculations or equipment resizing BAS (Building Automation System) integration, programming, or modifications Fire alarm integration or recertification Life safety testing or recertification Permits, inspections Asbestos, hazardous materials abatement, or concealed condition remediation Modifications to existing ductwork beyond unit connection Electrical service upgrades or breaker modifications
