The Winter Haven Police Department is soliciting bids for the purchase and installation of a larger outboard engine for the department’s Carolina Skiff patrol vessel. The vessel is currently equipped with a 90 HP Mercury outboard engine; however, operational demands have identified the need for increased horsepower and enhanced performance to support marine patrol operations. The department intends to upgrade the patrol vessel to a 115 HP Mercury outboard engine and reassign the existing 90 HP engine to the department’s pontoon boat for continued departmental use.

Background

The upgraded 115 HP engine will provide improved acceleration, maneuverability, and overall vessel performance, particularly during operations involving multiple personnel, equipment, and emergency response activities on local waterways.   The City of Winter Haven, FL is seeking to purchase a Mercury 115hp 4-cylinder, 4-Stroke Outboard Boat Engine. This engine will be used to power a municipal boat for various operational needs, including but not limited to, waterway maintenance, emergency response, and routine patrols. The selected vendor will be responsible for supplying the engine, ensuring it meets all specified standards, and providing any necessary support services.
