    Description

    Lower Macungie Township will receive sealed bids for its 2026 Roadway Improvement Program. The Contract will generally include the full-width mill and overlay of five Township roadways (16,026 SY/1,490 TON) including 2,000 SY of pavement repair and 500 TON leveling/scratch course. The Contract will also include pavement repair (2,750 SY) along five Township roadways and replacement of pavement markings. Copies of the Specifications and Bid Forms will be available at no cost on PennBID, https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com beginning February 25 , 2026. Sealed bids will be received via PennBID only until 9:00 AM (prevailing time) on March 16, 2026. Bid results will be made available on PennBID after bid opening. Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a certified or bank check, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of PennDOT Pub. 408, made payable to Lower Macungie Township, in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid price, including all Alternate/Add-On items. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in an amount equal to the Contract Price and meeting PennDOT Publication 408, Section 103.04 requirements. Bidders must be PennDOT prequalified as a “Prime Contractor” per PennDOT Pub. 408, Section 102. This project is subject to the terms and conditions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, as determined by the Secretary of Labor and Industry, and is to be bid as such. The successful bidder is assessed a variable award fee from PennBID.
