    Description

The City of Maryville is moving forward with a major water infrastructure improvement to enhance the reliability and quality of the community’s drinking water. The City’s existing water treatment plant draws water from Mozingo Lake, where seasonal algal blooms can create taste and odor challenges that are difficult to address with the current treatment process. To proactively address these issues and support future needs, the City has elected to construct a new 4-million-gallons-per-day water treatment plant utilizing a modern biofiltration and ozone treatment process.

The new facility will include multiple supporting components such as raw water metering, advanced treatment and filtration systems, pump stations, chemical and ozone facilities, and an administration building. Construction will involve significant site work, underground utilities, structural concrete, mechanical and electrical systems, and specialized treatment equipment installation. Construction is anticipated to begin in April 2026 and continue for approximately two years. The City will continue to share updates as the project progresses to keep residents informed about this important investment in Maryville’s water infrastructure.

Bid Documents and Packages will be uploaded to this website in January of 2026.
