    Description

    The work to be performed under this contract consists of comprehensive street and sidewalk improvements at multiple locations throughout the City of Lawrence, including 27th Street, 27th Terrace, 28th Court, 28th Street, 28th Place, 28th Terrace, 29th Place, 29th Street, 29th Terrace, Alabama Street, and Belle Haven Drive. The project scope includes select curb and gutter replacements, sidewalk and ADA ramp upgrades, concrete pavement installation and patching, partial and full-depth asphalt pavement patching, microsurfacing, and a 2-inch mill and overlay with new pavement markings. Major quantities include approximately 28,000 square yards of milling, 3,000 tons of asphalt, 14,000 square yards of microsurfacing, 11,000 linear feet of curb and gutter , and 1,100 square feet of ADA ramps.

    No closures of driveway access points shall be permitted at any location on the project from May 16, 2026 through July 19, 2026.  No impacts to vehicular or pedestrian traffic shall be permitted along or directly adjacent to Louisiana Street during the period from May 16, 2026 through July 19, 2026. When school is in session at Billy Mills Middle School, any pedestrian or traffic impacts on Louisiana Street shall be limited to the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
