Los Angeles County seeks prequalified contractors for construction of a 150-foot debris wall on Mulholland Drive to prevent debris flow after slope failures. Scope includes removal of an unpermitted retaining wall, debris wall construction, fencing, and curb replacement.
■ Only the following five Contractors can bid on this project as a Prime Contractor: • Calex Engineering • Clarke Contracting • Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc. • Mike Prlich & Sons, Inc. • Mladen Buntich Construction Company ▬ The project site is located along the southwest side of Mulholland Drive adjacent to 13150 Mulholland Drive in a residential area. Rainfall events caused slope failures during December 2022 and January/February 2023. Debris was accumulated and caused a temporary road closure along Mulholland Drive at the toe of the slope. The proposed scope of work of the project includes removal of approximately 90 linear feet of an existing unpermitted retaining wall and construction of a 150-foot long debris wall on the southwest side of Mulholland Drive. The new debris wall will consist of cast in drilled hole (CIDH) piles and steel wide flange beams with precast concrete and timber lagging. The proposed scope of work also includes fencing along the top of the debris wall as well as removal and replacement of the concrete curb. Construction of a new debris wall is necessary to prevent future debris flow onto Mulholland Drive. ▬▬▬▬▬ ♦ See bid package for full scope & details ♦ Bid package only on RAMP- if you're one of the prequalified contractors, download it to be a planholder ♦ For Bid Results visit http://engineering.lacity.gov/contractors/
