    Bid Posting Date: April 17, 2024 Project: North Harbor Drive Parking and Traffic Striping Contract Number: 2214 Proposals Due: Proposals will be accepted until 4:00 PM local time, May 1, 2024 through Box.com This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Removal of existing pavement and curb markings by sand blasting. Installation of new angled parking pavement and curb markings. Including ADA markings. The Scope of Work is further described in the attached drawings and specification titled “Parking and Traffic Improvements North Harbor Drive”. The contractor shall submit a Cost Proposal using the attached Bid Schedule that includes painted traffic marking quantities. The Contractor must submit a construction work plan that includes the following Criteria: Project schedule/timeline. General construction work plan per drawings and specifications. How will contractors phase the project while keeping enough parking spaces available to the public during construction, how will contractors deal with vehicles blocking construction areas, and include a safety traffic plan. How will contractors adapt to the poor weather conditions and still meet the June 15, 2024, substantial completion date. Submissions should meet criteria identified in section E and packaging should be clearly identified as a response to the City of Valdez North Harbor Drive Parking and Traffic Improvements Request for Qualifications. Submit (1) electronic copy of your Statement of Qualifications via the City’s drop box application: Box.com Access to the electronic drop box must be requested via email to nduval@valdezak.gov with a CC to wrobertson@valdezak.gov no later than one business day prior to submission the deadline. Failure to request access in advance may disqualify a firm’s proposal. Access can be requested well in advance of the deadline. Bid documents may also be downloaded from the links below. Bidders are encouraged to download, fill out, and return the Request for Addendum / Plan Holders List form located at the link listed below to ensure receipt of any addendum issued for this project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid is required. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause. Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City.
