    Description

    The City is seeking qualified medical professionals to provide specimen collection services for individuals taken into custody in connection with various criminal offenses. Additional services may include appearing in court to provide testimony regarding the collection and handling of biological evidence. Services will be performed on an on-call basis at various locations within the jurisdiction, both incorporated and unincorporated Murrieta, including—but not limited to—local hospitals and the Murrieta Police Station.Licensed medical personnel contracted under this agreement will support law enforcement efforts by collecting specimen samples. These blood draws are typically conducted in relation to investigations involving impaired driving and controlled substance offenses. While some blood draws may be conducted without the subject’s consent under legal authority, the Contractor will not be responsible for physically restraining individuals during the procedure.The amount and type of specimen samples may vary depending on specific circumstances. The Contractor must be prepared to collect the number and type of samples specified at the time of service.The Contractor must also be knowledgeable in proper evidence handling procedures and follow all applicable chain-of-custody protocols. All specimen collection must be conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of the City of Murrieta Police Department.
