This is the model project segment outlined in the adopted 2022 Peachtree Creek Greenway Feasibility Study. This trail is being built within public right-of-way and on city easement within DeKalb County Board of Education (Sequoyah Middle School). The project is approximately 2,551 linear feet (0.5 miles) and includes a 10¿ to 12¿ wide concrete trail. 630 linear feet of the project will include sidewalk improvements with new ADA accessible ramps along existing streets. The project scope also include one bridge crossing, retaining walls, landscape, and stormwater improvements. Additional work associated with the project includes minor demolition and clearing, erosion control, grading, trail amenities, and signage. The new middle school is expected to open in Fall 2027, and the high school in Fall 2029. Contractors shall coordinate with the general contractor, site superintendent, and others as needed to ensure that construction activities shall not interfere with the school construction.
