PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThis project includes the demolition and removal of existing playground surfacing and the furnishing and installation of new poured-in-place (PIP) rubber safety surfacing at a licensed child care center. All work shall be completed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing child safety and playground environments.2. SCOPE OF WORK2.1 Demolition and Site PreparationRemove and legally dispose of approximately 1,085 square feet of existing playground surfacing.Haul away all demolition debris and dispose of it in compliance with local and state regulations.Prepare the existing subgrade to receive new surfacing, including cleaning, leveling, and minor surface corrections required for proper installation.2.2 New Poured-In-Place (PIP) Safety SurfacingFurnish and install approximately 1,085 square feet of poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing.Surfacing shall be installed at a uniform total thickness of 2 inches.Installation shall be completed in the following areas:Area 1: Approximately 660 square feetArea 2: Approximately 425 square feetProvide a two-color 50/50 blend (cobalt blue and black or approved equivalent).Final surface shall be seamless, smooth, slip-resistant, and securely bonded to the prepared base.3. CHILD SAFETY & COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTSAll materials and installation methods shall be appropriate for child care and early learning environments.Surfacing shall comply with all applicable ASTM and CPSC playground safety standards, including impact attenuation and fall protection requirements.Materials shall be non-toxic, free of harmful substances, and safe for use by children.Completed installation shall meet requirements of the California Department of Social Services - Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD), where applicable.4. PERMITS & INSPECTIONSContractor shall be responsible for obtaining all required permits, approvals, and inspections necessary to complete the work.All work shall comply with applicable local building codes and jurisdictional requirements.Permit fees and inspection coordination shall be included in the contractor's proposal unless otherwise noted.5. WARRANTYContractor shall provide a written warranty covering both materials and workmanship.Warranty shall include a minimum one (1) year warranty against defects such as delamination, cracking, excessive wear, or premature failure under normal playground use.Any defects identified during the warranty period shall be corrected at no additional cost to the Owner.6. GENERAL REQUIREMENTSContractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals required to complete the work.The work area shall be maintained in a clean and safe condition at all times, with proper barricades and safety measures appropriate for an active child care facility.Contractor shall coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption to center operations.Upon completion, the site shall be left clean, safe, and ready for use following manufacturer-recommended cure times.7. EXCLUSIONSNo additional or out-of-scope work shall be performed without a separate written quote and prior written approval from the Owner.8.
