    Description

    The State University of New York at Albany will receive sealed bids for project number P-1636 titled Podium Canopy Repairs Catskill – Arts and Sciences until 2:00 p.m. local time on February 10, 2026, at University at Albany, Service Building “A”, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12222 Room 103, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Work of this contract includes removals and repair of spalled/delaminated concrete of the columns, concrete ribs, and facades by use of swing scaffolding or lifts supplied and installed by the contractor. All work on this Contract is to be completed no later than August 21, 2026, starting five (5) calendar days after the contract approval date of New York State Comptroller. The State University of New York at Albany anticipates that this work will require two summers to complete. However, the University is open to full completion by August 21, 2026. Any work not completed by that time will be shifted to the summer of 2027 and complete August 20, 2027. A pre-bid walkthrough to review the scope of work and site conditions will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10:00 am EST. Interested parties to meet at University at Albany, Service Building “A”, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12222 Room 103, where the architect will review the project drawings and specifications prior to the site visit at the Catskill Building and Arts & Sciences Building. Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined free of charge at the campus in the Office of Planning, Design & Construction, (SBA) Service Building “A” or at the following locations: Eastern Contractors Association Inc. (877) 272-0216. All work shall be in accordance with construction drawings and specifications. Contractor must be able to secure a performance bond for the full amount of their bid and should be prepared to anticipate a value in excess of $1,200,000 for this project. Please note that this project is exempt from Wicks Law. The State University of New York at Albany project specific goals for this project are 11% MBE and 19% WBE and 6% SDV. Bids must be submitted in duplicate in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.
