    Description

    The City of Norfolk (the “City”) is seeking qualified educational providers that will offer discounted educational services and/or benefits which may include tuition discounts, price matching, waived application/registration fees, or credit for prior experience (e.g., public safety academies) to City of Norfolk employees.

    Background

    The City of Norfolk employs approximately 4,700 employees.  Full-time, part-time permanent, special project, and sworn employees who have completed 6 months of continuous service and have maintained a sound performance record are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement.  Courses selected must align with their current position or a reasonable job opportunity in the City.  Employees are able to select the educational provider that best meets their needs as long as that provider offers for-credit courses and is accredited through the United States Department of Education or regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools of Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

    All educational providers who meet with qualifications defined within will be added to the prequalified list available to City employees based on the terms defined within with scope
