This project is being issued solely for the purpose of contractor prequalification. At this stage, contractors are only being evaluated for their qualifications, experience, licensing, and ability to perform the scope of work. Upload your prequalification packets by the established due date. Only contractors that successfully meet the prequalification requirements and are formally approved by the College will be invited to participate in the subsequent solicitation for the main project. Please note that all project-related attachments, including drawings, specifications, plans, and supporting documents, are being provided for reference and informational purposes only as part of the prequalification review process. These materials are intended to assist contractors in understanding the general scope, complexity, and anticipated requirements of the project and should not be interpreted as final bid documents or authorization to perform any work. The new four-story Technology and Health Building at Mt. San Antonio College will bring together programs currently spread across six separate locations, including modular buildings, the Health Careers facility, and the existing Technology buildings. This transformative 273,000-square-foot facility will support 10 departments and 26 academic programs, consolidating them into a single, innovative learning environment. Not only will this be the largest building on Mt. SAC’s campus, but it will also be the largest instructional facility of any community college in California. Furniture Design Philosophy: The furniture design philosophy for the Technology and Health Building is rooted in supporting a dynamic, forward-thinking educational environment. Furniture is thoughtfully selected and strategically placed to showcase the identity of each program, creating visually distinct, branded spaces that reflect the character and purpose of the disciplines they serve. To promote student engagement, the design emphasizes flexibility—offering a variety of seating styles, collaborative workstations, and inviting social zones that encourage interaction, collaboration, and informal learning. Inspired by professional and industry environments, the furnishings convey a modern, innovative aesthetic that prepares students for the expectations of their future careers. At the same time, every piece is chosen with durability, ease of maintenance, and user comfort in mind—ensuring a long-lasting, adaptable, and accessible experience for both students and faculty. This thoughtful integration of function, form, and flexibility fosters innovation, supports diverse learning styles, and strengthens the connection between education and real-world application. It is the goal that furniture for this project must align with the standards of a leading global company that operates within a multi-cultural and diverse environment. Solutions must be value-driven and performance-oriented, with an emphasis on a design-forward approach that reflects innovation, functionality, and aesthetic excellence. Furniture selections should support a dynamic, high-performance workplace while embodying the brand’s commitment to thoughtful design and cultural inclusivity. Products must be backed by rigorous research and problem-solving methodologies, ensuring adaptability and long-term usability. Furthermore, majority of the furniture must be sourced from domestic manufacturing facilities to support local economies, ensure quality control, and promote sustainable, efficient production practices.
