    Description

    The City of Tucson, herein referred to as “City,” is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide routine and on-call urban forestry services on public property. These services support the ongoing care, expansion, and protection of Tucson’s urban forest—a vital component of our community infrastructure. The City’s urban forestry network include young and mature trees, a diverse species portfolio, as well as vacant planting locations.

    Open and Continuous Solicitation

    This solicitation will be open and continuous through March 16, 2031, meaning that the City will accept proposals from prospective offerors at any time through March 16, 2031. The initial submittal period is open through 2:00pm Local AZ Time on March 16, 2026. The City intends to review proposals twice a year, in March and September. Offers may be evaluated sooner or later at the City's discretion. Successful offerors will be awarded a contract and placed on the City's Qualified Vendor List for Tree Work Services.

    • Method of Approach (40 pts)
      • Please describe your company’s ethic and approach to urban forestry work. Do you consider your work approach and mission to be in alignment with the City of Tucson’s Community Forestry Action Plan and Tree Work Best Practices and Standards? How do you approach, integrate, and stay up to date on arboriculture and urban forestry best practices and standards particularly in the SW United States? 
      • Please provide a sample work schedule or plan for the group(s) you are applying for in this contract. Describe how you would approach a job of this nature including what preparation, on-site, and wrap up procedures you would utilize. Please include any specific strategies or specialized techniques that may apply to this kind of work. 
      • What is your company’s on-call, after hour, and emergency availability? If you have additional storm response procedures please include those here. 
      • Please provide a list of your company’s tools and equipment that would be available for this contract.  
      • Please describe your internal work quality, staff and field protection aka Personal Protective Equipment, and cost control measures or procedures. 
    • Qualifications and Experience (40 pts)
      • Include a staff structure diagram or description including all dedicated staff who would be available for this contract – including managers and field crews. Please provide the years of experience and location of all listed staff. Provide any additional detail on experience of company and staff as relevant to this application. 
      • Please provide a full list of relevant experience, education, certifications and training for all staff potentially assigned to this contract including but not limited to ISA Certified Tree Worker, ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (ISA TRAQ), TCIA, ALCA, Smartscape, other industry certifications, etc. Please detail how professional development opportunities are made available to staff, and ongoing training is encouraged.   
      • Please provide at least one example and reference per group(s) you are applying for. Additional examples may be provided and would be useful information to include.
