    Description

This is a single-engagement, deliverable-based contract focused on subject-matter expertise and presentation delivery. The Contractor must disclose any affiliation or connection to any current CHRC grantee. A list of grantees can be found here. A Conflict-of-Interest Affidavit and Disclosure Statement (Attachment A) will be required of the Contractor. The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (“CHRC” or the “Commission”), an independent agency operating within the Maryland Department of Health, is seeking to engage a qualified individual (the “Contractor”) to deliver a 90-minute presentation to CHRC Commissioners on the root causes of health disparities and health equity in underserved communities. The presentation will be delivered as part of a CHRC Commissioner retreat currently planned for September 2026, at a location to be determined. The retreat is designed to familiarize newly appointed Commissioners with the Commission’s statutory authority and role and to build a foundation for all Commissioners to ground their strategic and grantmaking priorities in a clear understanding of the structural and root causes of health disparities and the social drivers of poor health outcomes across Maryland. The Contractor’s presentation is intended to inform the retreat’s session on the landscape of need across the state — including mortality rates, access, outcomes, and other key statistics — so that Commissioners can utilize a common understanding of health disparities and social drivers of health outcomes in the future work of the CHRC.
