Request for Qualifications for Comprehensive Bus Stop Condition Evaluation, Needs Assessment, and Improvement Plan (2026) January 13th, 2026 Summary The City of Iowa City, Iowa (City) is soliciting qualifications submittals from interested consultants to provide professional planning, engineering, and design services for a Comprehensive Bus Stop Condition Evaluation, Needs Assessment, and Improvement Plan. The selected consultant will be responsible for a complete inventory and condition assessment of all existing City bus stops, including the primary Transit Interchange, development of a comprehensive needs assessment, and creation of an actionable, prioritized multi-year improvement plan, including preliminary engineering and design for a selection of priority improvements. Additionally, the City seeks expertise to conduct a Needs Assessment and Evaluation of the indoor and outdoor public and staff amenities and operational needs at the primary Transit Interchange located on Washington Street, west of Clinton Street. Submittals in response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be used to evaluate and select one consultant for this specific project. The successful candidate will be utilized for a contract approved through approximately December 31, 2027. To submit qualifications, consultants must include information as described in this RFQ.
